Our Story
Meme Mulugeta established The 1 & Only Publishing in October 2024, following inspiration from a divine revelation. During her journey to fulfill her God-given purpose, she dreamt of a woman who approached her to share that she was writing a book to help fellow believers recount the works of the Lord in their lives. Upon waking, the Holy Spirit affirmed to Meme that this vision would play a crucial role in her ministry.
Though unsure of what this meant, Meme felt a compelling urge from the Holy Spirit to create a book detailing her personal experiences with the Lord, along with ideas to inspire others to share their stories. Each day, the Holy Spirit guided her, recalling topics and past experiences she had almost forgotten. After completing the 30th chapter, she received the word from the Lord that it was finished. While uncertain about the next steps, she remained steadfast in her faith, trusting the Lord to lead her. A month later, she felt another divine prompt to create a store to sell her book and promote it through social media platforms. However, God had even greater plans for her.
On October 7th, after three days of fasting and attending a spirit-filled women’s conference, the Lord revealed the next chapter of His plan: He wanted her to establish an organization dedicated to reaching churches and believers worldwide. A week later, when she was unexpectedly fired from her job, what seemed like a setback closed the door to distractions and opened the gateway to limitless opportunities. Since that moment, she has remained faithful to the Lord’s mandate, aspiring to write 555,000 books in ten years around the world.
Why do we do this?
Remembering & Proclaiming the Goodness of God.
Psalms 77:11-12 (NKJV) – “I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely, I will remember your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all your work and talk of your deeds.”
During challenging times, we often overlook the incredible things the Lord has done for us. If we believe that our God is the Same—Yesterday, Today, and Forever—this certainly extends to His goodness in our lives. Creating a book to celebrate these blessings will not only act as a meaningful reminder for you, but also as a beautiful testament to your family, friends, and community that the Lord is indeed Good and His mercy endures forever.
Advancing the Kingdom of God through your talents and contributions.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV) – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
We believe it’s crucial to prioritize God in our lives—before family, friends, and careers. We often associate ministry with church or preaching from a podium, but in reality, your life is your unique ministry, while your career provides an excellent platform for fulfilling that purpose. The Lord has equipped you with special talents that should shine brightly for the Kingdom of God. These gifts can uplift the body of Christ and plant seeds in the hearts of non-believers. Writing a book that showcases your skills while beautifully merging the truths of God’s word allows you to share your knowledge for the Lord, and it also provides a wonderful opportunity to generate additional income, enabling you to support God’s Kingdom right here on Earth!
Building wealth for generations.
Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV) – “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
As time passes, stories can easily be forgotten. While we usually associate wealth with money, true wealth encompasses much more than material possessions. Each of us desires to create a legacy for those who come after us, and sharing your personal narrative is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Understanding the journey of what God has accomplished for your family is genuinely unique. In these unpredictable times, it’s essential to leave behind something significant—a lasting reminder for future generations—that helps them recall the goodness and faithfulness of God within their family.
